I hope this email finds you well as we approach the end of the second nine weeks. This is an important time for our students, and I want to ensure that everyone is aware of the upcoming deadlines and the resources available to support student success.
The second nine weeks will officially end on January 16th, and grades will be finalized in PowerSchool by January 21st. I encourage you to log into PowerSchool to view your child(ren)’s current grades and ensure they are on track to meet their academic goals. If you need assistance accessing PowerSchool, please contact your child’s counselor, and they will be happy to help.
To further support our students in completing their work and achieving success, we have several resources in place:

Homework Help: Offered after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, providing students with additional time and support to complete assignments.

Advisory Periods for High School Students: Built-in time during the school day to help students stay on top of their work.
We encourage you to review your child’s grades carefully and, if necessary, reach out to their teachers to schedule a meeting. Open communication between parents, teachers, and students is essential to ensuring our children reach their full potential.
At Windber Area School District, we have high expectations for all of our students because we believe in their ability to succeed. However, it’s important to emphasize that the work is the work, and completing assignments on time is critical for their learning and success. With your partnership, we can provide the support and encouragement our students need to thrive.
