Windber Area School District is proud to offer dual enrollment opportunities through partnerships with Penn Highlands, St. Francis University, and Allegheny College of Maryland. With 86 students earning a total of 466 college credits this year, students are getting a head start on their academic careers while saving money on tuition costs. Thanks to grants and scholarships, many students are receiving free or reduced-cost college courses, helping them prepare for future success without the financial burden. This morning, Windber Area High School and Middle School went into a "Hold and Secure" due to a student illness in the hallway and to allow for cleanup. During this time, we also received a Safe to Say tip about a potential safety concern. After a swift investigation, the situation was determined to be non-threatening, and the school day continued as normal.
