Dear Families,
On or about, Tuesday, January 7, 2025, PowerSchool notified the district they experienced a cyber security incident across North American schools between December 19 and December 28, 2024. The cyber security incident happened to a third-party vendor for the district, being PowerSchool, a widely-used application for managing student and staff information in school districts throughout the United States, including our district. This vendor is working with a nationally recognized forensic and Cyber Security Firm to address this matter accordingly. As additional information is gathered and presented to the district, we will continue to inform students and staff regarding this incident.
We call for and appreciate the community’s patience as this matter continues to be investigated and monitored. In the coming days, PowerSchool will be providing the district with a communications package to support the district in engaging with families, teachers, and other stakeholders about this incident.
