WASD Adds three More Dual Enrollment Courses!

Exciting News: Three New Dual Enrollment Courses Added!

We are thrilled to announce that we’ve expanded our partnership with St. Francis University to offer three additional dual enrollment courses: Spanish I, Spanish II, and Honors English. This means even more opportunities for our students to get a jump start on college while still in high school!

Why Dual Enrollment? Dual enrollment courses allow students to earn both high school and college credits simultaneously. These courses, offered at a significantly reduced rate, can save families hundreds—if not thousands—of dollars in future college tuition costs. By taking these courses now, students can lighten their course load in college or even graduate early, translating to substantial financial savings.

Building Confidence for College Beyond the financial perks, dual enrollment courses help students build confidence by exposing them to the rigor of college-level coursework. Successfully completing a college course while still in high school gives students a sense of accomplishment, helping them feel more prepared and less intimidated as they move on to higher education.

Our Commitment to Student Success At Windber Area School District, we are committed to helping our students achieve their dreams, both academically and financially. We want our students to reach their full potential, and dual enrollment is one of the ways we’re making that possible. By offering these courses, we aim to ease the financial burden on families and help students gain valuable experience that will serve them well in college and beyond.

We encourage all eligible students to take advantage of these new opportunities. Let’s work together to help our students succeed—both in the classroom and in life!

If you have any questions about dual enrollment or how to sign up, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s guidance counselor.
