Graduation Ceremony Participation: Important Expectations for Seniors

As we prepare for the start of the school year, we want to ensure that all families are fully informed about the expectations for participating in the graduation commencement ceremony. We're sharing this information well in advance to avoid any confusion and to clearly communicate our expectations.

Graduation Ceremony Participation Criteria

To participate in the graduation commencement ceremony, seniors must meet the following criteria:

  • Attendance Requirement: Seniors with 20 or more absences, including at least 3 unexcused absences, will be required to attend summer school. These students will NOT be permitted to walk in the graduation ceremony.
  • Academic Requirement: Students must pass all graduation requirements and be passing all of their classes to participate in the ceremony. Failure to meet these academic standards will also result in the loss of the privilege to walk at graduation.

Important Note: Students who successfully complete summer school and meet graduation requirements will still receive their diplomas but will not be allowed to participate in the commencement ceremony.

These expectations are set to maintain the integrity of our graduation ceremony and emphasize the importance of academic achievement and attendance. By making these criteria clear now, we aim to avoid any misunderstandings as the school year progresses.

Please discuss these requirements with your child, and feel free to contact the school if you have any questions. Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to celebrate the accomplishments of our students.
