Sign Up Today to Be a Member of the Superintendent's Advisory Council

Dear WASD Families,

We are excited to announce that we are seeking parents to join the Superintendent's Parent Advisory Council (PAC). If you have previously served on the council and wish to continue, we welcome your participation; however, please note that you will need to complete the form again.

The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) was established last year to enhance communication between the WASD Administration and parents. Recognizing that parent involvement and cooperative partnerships are crucial to enriching our children's education, the council's philosophy emphasizes the importance of communication for achieving quality and excellence in education.

The PAC consists of 10-15 parents who will meet on a monthly basis in the WASD Boardroom. Endorsed by the School Board, our main objective is to provide a forum for parents to present their concerns, opinions, questions, and perspectives directly to school administrators. This feedback allows the administration to make more informed decisions on issues affecting our children's education. While the PAC does not make school policy, it does offer recommendations to the WASD School Board.

Meetings will be held during the school day, most likely during lunch hours. The Superintendent and the PAC chairperson will arrange the agenda based on feedback from the entire parent group. Discussion topics may include, but are not limited to, that month's Board Agenda items, technology planning, internet safety, enrichment opportunities, field trips, curriculum feedback, and program feedback.

We look forward to your participation in this vital council and appreciate your commitment to improving our children's educational experience.
