Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

Pennsylvania Act 84 of 2015 mandates an annual electronic notification for public and nonpublic schools regarding the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). This initiative aims to extend health insurance coverage to uninsured children and adolescents in Pennsylvania who do not qualify for or are not enrolled in Medical Assistance. As part of this effort, schools are obligated to distribute an informational infographic to families within the District, emphasizing the crucial role of CHIP in safeguarding the health and well-being of eligible children and teens.

The Children's Health Insurance Program — or CHIP — is Pennsylvania's program to provide health coverage to uninsured children and teens who are not eligible for or enrolled in Medical Assistance. Regardless of the reasons your children might not have health insurance, CHIP may be able to help you.
