Dear Friends,
I hope this email finds you well. On behalf of the District, I would like to inform you about three major projects taking place in our district over the summer, which will greatly enhance the infrastructure and safety of our buildings. However, we anticipate that these projects may restrict access to certain areas or entire buildings temporarily. Our top priority is ensuring the safety of everyone involved, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.
Elementary Doors/Concrete Project:
- Supplies and work area preparation will commence on the week of May 30th.
- The project involves the replacement of all front perimeter entrances, along with painting and prep work for other entrances.
- To ensure safe entry, designated entrances will be provided for office staff, Learning Lamp, and ESY programs.
- The public playground will remain closed throughout the project.
- Limited public access to the school will be in effect.
- Concrete work is scheduled after the arrival of new bollards for the front entryway, expected in mid to early June.
High School Roof Project:
- Materials and roof area preparation will begin on the week of May 22nd.
- Construction workers will be onsite starting from the week of May 29th.
- Half of the rear maintenance parking lot will be utilized as a materials and staging area.
- The project includes four areas: band roof, maintenance roof, auxiliary gym, and gymnasium locker room area.
- The replacement section of the roof will be prioritized, followed by the remaining areas.
- We expect the project to be completed within 4-5 weeks.
- Day-to-day operations will be unaffected, but please note that parking in the rear maintenance lot will be limited.
Middle School HVAC Project:
- The progress of this project is dependent on the arrival of new Unit Ventilators (UVs)
- Until the UVs are confirmed, the work will be less intrusive.
- We ordered the UVs with an estimated delivery time of 8-12 weeks (possibly in July).
- Workers will begin marking and preparing the roof for condensing units starting the week of May 29th.
- We will provide you with updates on the schedule as more information becomes available.
We understand that these projects may cause temporary inconveniences, but they are crucial for the improvement and safety of our facilities. We kindly request your patience and cooperation during this period. Rest assured, we will make every effort to minimize disruptions and keep you informed of any changes or developments.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding these projects, please feel free to reach out to us. We greatly value your support and understanding as we work together to enhance our district for the benefit of our entire community.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Mr. Michael J. Vuckovich
Superintendent of Schools
