The School District was notified by Paint Township this week that there will be a stormwater/roadway project that is to begin on Monday, May 8, 2023. This project will impact traffic patterns on both Sugar Maple Drive and Hayes Street, in the area from Route 56 to Graham Avenue, during the hours that school is in session. This will impact both the morning and afternoon traffic patterns on a daily basis and is projected to last until after the school year ends. All traffic entering and exiting the Elementary school will need to enter from Graham Avenue, as traffic will not be permitted to travel on lower Sugar Maple Drive and Hayes Street.
We are working with Miller Motors to adjust our bus routes to allow for safe entry and exiting of our school buses to/from the Elementary School. We are also alerting all families who transport children to and from the school and asking everyone to plan ahead for this traffic adjustment and allow extra time for safely entering and exiting the Elementary School. We also encourage students to ride the school buses during this time in an effort to decrease the amount of traffic in and around the school. If you have any questions regarding the specifics of bus information for your child(ren), please contact Mrs. Jenni Manotti, Elementary Transportation Secretary (814-467-4567, ext 102). Please know that the safety of our children is a top priority and we ask for your cooperation during this time. Please feel free to contact Mr. Charles Beckley, Elementary Principal (814-467-4567, ext 103) or Mr. Glenn Gaye, Acting Superintendent/Director of Transportation (814-467-4567, ext 805) if you have any questions or need additional information. Thank you in advance for your consideration and cooperation!
