ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned)
- Attend all assigned athletic events and practices as schedule by the Athletic Director and complete injury treatment log on a daily basis, injury report forms as necessary, and process insurance claims.
- Oversee injury prevention and recognition, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation. Make all decisions related to emergency care, and treatment, notifying parents or guardians of the injured athletes.
- Communicate with parents and students by informing them on all matters pertaining to the health and welfare of the student-athlete.
- Communicate with head coaches by informing them on all matters pertaining to the health and welfare of the athletes.
- Prepare budget requisitions with appropriate pricing; award bids on bid tally as to lowest bidder or best price as specified; and check-in all received equipment on purchase orders.
- Schedule pre-participation screenings with the team physician; notify the Athletic Director, and head coaches and arrange all appointments with school approved physicians.
- Oversee the use of the training and athletic training equipment rooms and coordinate safety checks on medical equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING
- Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training - Kinesiology
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
- PA Athletic Trainer License
- BOC Certification
- CPR & First Aid Instructor Certification
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license
WORK-RELATED KNOWLEDGE
- Emergency assessment of athletic injuries; wrap/ice, determine condition of injury.
